The Long Walk

from A Palagi In The Rain by dead lizard grin

about

This collage was inspired by the soft sound of my footfalls on the sandy road through Ofu's national park and a dream I had of a door in my apartment leading to Ofu.

The door opens and Ofu is revealed. You walk through and your steps become a rhythmic guide leading you to scenes of island life. The journey takes you past a church filled with song. You work our way along a quiet shoreline and a birdsong-filled jungle. Finally, village kids bang on oil drums and set off homemade fireworks on New Year's Eve.

Then, like a dream startled by morning light, the door closes and Ofu vanishes.

Originally released as a hidden, untitled track on "The Wide And Starry Sky" (my 2005 album with Trecento) I have remastered it for its inclusion here.

Today, I create the soundtrack for my life; an accompaniment for the existence that I've known.
