"We Were Us" is a collection of shimmering nocturnal dronescapes constructed over the past two years. The lonely, fogbound rail bridge evokes desolation and movement into the unknown on the cover.

These amalgamations of electronic, acoustic, sampled, and field recorded sounds are stretched out and twisted into new contexts and slowly evolving contra-distinctive forms denoting the unstoppable nature of change. Even when things seem static and stable, the dominoes are tilting somewhere and we will cross from one chapter to the next often without even realizing how much flux has affected us.

During the mixing trials I used these tracks as sleep-and-dream soundtracks at night at low volume levels with effect results -- I slept and dreamed strange dreams.

I grew up and still live in the Midwest of America.

Surrounded by peers who listened to classic rock I turned away and instead filtered my youth through the sonic lens of '70s European electronic music, the ambient sounds of Eno, and the darker side of '80s new wave, post punk, and new romantic.

In my 20s I began experimenting with sound, experiments which I continue to this day.
