about

These two iterations of "Cemetery Loops" are based on an augmented sunset field recording made on a blustery, leaf-blown November 29, 2012, at Old Brick Cemetery near Joy, Illinois.

This tiny cemetery is situated along a narrow country road nestled between corn fields a couple of miles outside of town at Lat=41.182419, Lon=-90.849761.

A stereo microphone and recorder were setup in the cemetery and single-instrument loops were played over a portable speaker system which I carried as I walked amongst the graves and around the microphone.

(The loops were originally performed and assembled in the studio on July 7, 2009, for a never-realized project.)

The resulting recording was then taken into my studio where I mixed these 'live' elements weaving them into one another to create the final results.

The tracks have been purposefully mastered at a very low volume to ensure subdued, inconspicuous listening.

In my 20s I began experimenting with sound, experiments which I continue to this day.
