about

A singular, unadorned drone realized for strangely warm, late afternoons in November where the leaves rain down like sad confetti, summer has become a memory, and winter waits so close by that you can hear its dry breath in the wind that combs through the trees.

Designed as a sedate room tone conditioner for casual, low-volume listening.

Prepared by Terry Skaggs on November 5, 2016, in Rock Island, IL.

Materials used:
A short loop of gently fluctuating synthesizer layered across two tracks -- one track pitched naturally, one pitched down several steps -- both routed through a stack of effects where tiny, delicate manipulations to various filters and sundry modifiers were performed.
